Short-recoil operated single action autoloading pistol fed by detachable single stack magazines. Left slide struck with the patent mark PATENTED APR. 20. 1897. SEPT. 9. 1902./DEC. 191. 1905. FEB. 14. 1911. AUG. 19. 1913 followed by the address mark COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. CO./HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A., with the {Rampant Colt} logo marked behind the cocking serrations. Right slide reads MODEL OF 1911. U.S. ARMY. Left frame is marked UNITED STATES PROPERTY with the right showing the serial number only. Item features a flat mainspring housing with lanyard loop, wide spur hammer, and frame without relief cuts. Barrel is Parkerized replacement marked T in front of the lug, with the bushing blued and likewise replaced.
