Formed from clear glass with a flattened ovoid body and gently rounded sides, the bottle is painted on the interior surface using the inside-painted technique. The principal face depicts a figural genre scene showing numerous figures engaged in daily activities within an architectural setting, rendered in ink outlines with applied polychrome washes.

The composition includes tiled roofs, fences, bridges, and pathways arranged diagonally across the surface, with figures dressed in varied colored garments providing visual rhythm and scale. The reverse appears similarly decorated or reserved to complement the primary scene. The glass body is fitted with applied metal mounts at the shoulders and base, cast with scrolling foliate ornament, and set with an additional decorative element at the neck. The stopper is domed and carved from translucent red material, secured by a metal collar. Inside-painted glass snuff bottles of this type were widely produced in China during the 20th century, continuing earlier pictorial traditions adapted for the collector market.

Height 8.2 cm (3 1/4 in.), width 4.5 cm (1 3/4 in.).

Provenance: Private Collection. Acquired on the art market, late 20th century.
